Imperva, originally named WEBcohort, was founded in 2002 by Shlomo Kramer, Amichai Shulman and Mickey Boodaei. The following year the company sent its first product, SecureSphere Web Application Database Protection, a web firewall application. In 2004, the company changed its name to Imperva. IMPERVA Provides: Firewall Database (DBF), Database Monitoring (DAM), Activity File Monitoring (FAM), Web Firewall (WAF) Applications, Incapsula (DDOS Protection (WAF).
Company products are used to block certain websites, or only part of a website, check network traffic, filter email. and controls where sensitive files can be accessed. Forcepoint products can also be used to prevent employees from accessing websites that are deemed inappropriate to watch at work by their employers. For example, employers can prevent employees from viewing pornographic content at work, or material about sex education, religion, dating, or politics. Forcepoint also develops and markets firewall products which are based in part on technologies obtained from previous Stonesoft McAfee businesses and Sidewinder Intel Security products. The company is developing and marketing cloud security access brokerage products (CASB) using technology obtained from what was previously Skyfence Imperva products. It also sells analytics software to detect insider data leaks and some cross domain security products.
